Yavuz EROĞLU

Yavuz Eroğlu was born on January 23, 1973, in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. Later, he pursued postgraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at Boğaziçi University and Management Organization at Marmara University.

Eroğlu began his professional career at SEM Plastik, a family-owned company. After completing his university education in 1996, he started working full-time at SEM Plastik, a company engaged in the plastic packaging sector. He took on various roles in production, sales, and export within SEM Plastik, a rapidly growing company that achieved significant success in a short period. In 1997, he realized the company's first export. Eroğlu currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for SEM Global Inc. and Credoy Polimer, companies he founded.

Under his leadership, SEM Plastik was recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in Turkey and the region in the evaluation conducted by Allworld Network, a Harvard University initiative. In 2008, he made a significant investment in Palestine for single-use plastic packaging, making it both the region's only industrial investment and a case study for Michael Porter's "Shared Value" concept.

Yavuz Eroğlu holds various positions in industry organizations, including being the Chairman of the Board of PAGEV (Turkish Plastics Industry Foundation), the President of the TOBB Plastics, Rubber, and Composite Industry Council, a Board Member of EuPC (European Plastics Converters), the Turkey, Middle East, and Africa President of Waste Free Oceans Foundation, and a member of the Advisory Board of MECC (Middle East Commerce Center).

Eroğlu actively participates in conferences on topics such as the plastic industry, recycling, sustainability, packaging, trade finance, and entrepreneurship in various countries. In his efforts to educate students about plastics, he translated the book "A History of Plastics from Past to Future" into Turkish.

Fluent in English and proficient in German and French, Yavuz Eroğlu is married and the father of four children.
